Overgrowth of any bone involved in the making of hip joint can cause considerable discomfort to the patient. It may also remain unnoticed and gets diagnosed only if an X-ray is performed due to some other reason.
Characteristics of bone growth:
Cause: Overgrowth due to age OR injury OR arthritis
Symptoms: Pain in hip or knee joint and limited joint mobility
Treatment: Hip arthroscopy is performed to repair the bone growth in cases where conservative treatment measures and physical therapy fail to provide relief to the patient.
