Knee Fracture Treatment

Knee fracture refers to breaking or cracking of any of the parts of bone involved in the joint itself. The bones of knee include patella, femur, fibula and tibia.

Characteristics of Knee Fracture:
  • Cause: Falls OR car accidents OR sports activities OR direct hit to the knee

  • Symptoms: Pain, swelling, deformity, bruising and tenderness of the joint, inability to put weight on the leg, trouble bending and moving the knee along with deformity and grating feeling from the joint

  • Knee Fracture Treatment: Some of the fractures of knee are managed by non-surgical treatment including immobilization by splint, brace. But rest of the fractures require surgery to reduce the bone and restore mobility so that patients can return to normal activity.
