Activity related pain in ankle and foot generally occurs due to arthritis or inflammation of the joint. This kind of pain specifically aggravates after walking or running for long period of time.

Cause: Arthritis of the foot and ankle like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and posttraumatic arthritis
