Release of Scar Tissue to Improve Range of Motion

Scar tissue is a patch of gluey stuff (collagen) that is formed during repair process of an injury.

Characteristics of scar tissue:

  • Cause: An injury to muscles and tendons can cause sticking of scar tissue

  • Symptoms: Stiffness of elbow along with restricted motion

  • Treatment: Elbow contracture release surgery is performed arthroscopically to remove all the thickened and abnormal scar tissue.
