Forearm is made up of two bones radius and ulna that lie between the wrist and the elbow. Fracture of any of these bones is termed as forearm fracture that mainly occurs in children while playing.
Cause of Forearm Fracture:
Fall on an outstretched arm OR fall directly on the forearm OR direct blow to the forearm.
Symptoms of Forearm Fracture: :
Severe pain, tenderness and swelling on the injury site, inability to rotate or turn the forearm, deformity of the elbow along with numbness of forearm and hand.
Treatment for Forearm Fracture:
Stable forearm fractures can be treated with splint or cast by immobilizing the injured forearm. But some of the fractures may require surgery to put the bones into alignment and secure them in place.
