Elbow

The elbow joint is made of bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons apart from the muscles and nerves. Any strain or overuse of these parts could cause elbow pain. Elbow Injury/ Elbow Pain can arise from any of the following conditions;

  • Tennis elbow causes pain and tenderness on the outer side of the elbow.
  • Golfer's elbow causes pain and tenderness on the inner side of the elbow .
  • Osteoarthritis can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility in the elbow.
  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursae (small fluid-filled sacs) near the elbow.
  • Fracture or a broken bone in the elbow can cause severe pain and swelling.
  • A partial or complete displacement of the bones in the elbow joint
  • Tendinitis: Inflammation of the tendons in the elbow that can cause pain and reduced mobility.

Common symptoms

  • Pain: Aching, burning, or sharp pain in the elbow.
  • Swelling: Redness, warmth, and swelling in the affected area.
  • Osteoarthritis can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility in the elbow.
  • Stiffness: Difficulty moving the elbow or a limited range of motion.
  • Fractures: A broken bone in the elbow can cause severe pain and swelling.
  • Tenderness: Pain or discomfort when the elbow is touched.
  • Weakness: Decreased strength in the affected arm.
