ROTATOR CUFF TEAR – LIGAMENT INJURY SHOULDER
Rotator cuff is a network of four muscles. These four muscles gives stability and allow extreme range of movement of the shoulder joint.
The four muscles are-
- Supraspinatus
- Infraspinatus
- Teres minor
- Subscapularis
- Sports injury
- Fracture of the humeral head
- Fall with out-stretched hand
- Impingement of the cuff
- Pain
- Restricted range of motion
- Difficulty in lifting the arm
- Rest, ice, physical therapy, or Surgery.
- Surgery is advised in acute, traumatic rotator cuff tear with muscle weakness.
- Rehabilitation of the shoulder is required to regain maximum muscle strength.
- First 4 weeks – Immobilization
- 4 – 6 weeks – Passive mobilization
- 6 – 10 weeks – Both active and Passive mobilization
